La Palma in pictures, part 2

More pic's from our vacation:

Bram (and we...) loved the local dessert bienmesabe.

The weather doesn't look too good on the next pictures, but that's because the archeological park we visited was located at the same height as the clouds that day... These are petroglieves made by the natives.

We went for another hike in the same area, and Bram decided it was enough for the day...

On two different days, we hiked parts of the 'route of the vulcans'. First from the south to the north (and back), through steep and desolate areas like this:

Another day we went from north to south (and back), starting at a recreation area with a nice playground with baby-swings, climbing and climbing with beautiful views over the Caldera...

...up to the craters that were responsible for the lava fields in our village.

On the top there were a ton of lizards that would just crawl over you and your stuff.
This was our longest hike, no wonder Bram was tired again...

We also went on a boat safari to spot dolphins and a turtle. Bram loved it on the boat, Martijn and I both got pretty sick. It was a long 4.5 h... The view into the Caldera was nice though.

Our last day of the first two weeks we went out for lunch in a bodega that was mainly carved into the rocks. A real wine cave, with great food! The afternoon was spent on this lovely secluded beach in the south of the island.

On Friday, we moved to the second casita, called 'la Somadita'. The outside was maybe less impressive than the first house, but the garden and the view were spectacular!
