Ballerina

A couple of months ago, Ronne's dancing teacher decided it was time for her to leave the little-girls-group and join the classical-ballet-group. Today was the end-of-year-show of the dancing school. It was a fantastic show, and we were very proud of our little ballerina.

(Today was also my dad's birthday. It felt like Ronne was a little angel performing for him as well... I wish he could have seen her.)

Dancing snowgirl

Ronne's Christmas dance-show was this morning...

Here's our cute little snowman:

Happy birthday Ronne!

Ronne will turn 5 tomorrow, and we celebrated it today.

There was (of course) a princess-cake...

...which you eat with your hands (she is still 4 today, after all).

But to proof she truly is a big girl now, she decided it was time to ride without training wheels:

Daytrips

Blaise castle, a castle with great surroundings for hiking and picnicking in Bristol. Told you it is a green city.

Walking in the stream near Blaise castle.

Hiking at Crook peak, about 40 minutes outside Bristol.

Bristol

Bristol is surprisingly green for a big city. This is a part of 'the downs', enormous grass fields where building is forbidden. Brilliant! Great place to play with a frisbee.

Cute house and kind of ugly (but therefore interesting) watertower side by side. Interesting detail: the cute house is a public restroom (-:

The Dutch duo jr.

The down of the earlier picture ends in a cliff wall dropping down to the river Avon, here all muddy because of the low tide and draught.

Camera obscura. First time I have ever been in one. Weird: I know how they work, but I still was surprised to see people and animals moving. I guess I expected a still picture, like a photo.

Bridge over the Avon.

On a hot day? Yeah, right...

The harbour district.

Gromit in Bristol

We spent a couple of weeks in England.
I will post some pictures of our trip the coming days, starting with our Gromits!

We visited friends in Bristol for a few days.
This summer there is a 'Gromit in Bristol'-project.
These are the Gromits that we found and managed to photograph (sometimes from a driving car or through a window of a closed building, hence the poor quality of some pictures):
